Tamil Nadu government is keen in implementing the metro rail project in Chennai. This has been a dream project for many citizens. This might improve the living conditions in Chennai city. Chennai is a metropolitan city and there are lots of people who migrate to the urban area from rural area. Transport becomes very difficult and there long standing queues in the suburban railway station and in bus stops. The metro rail is the need of the hour. The corporation has selected many places for connectivity and public have been invited for a general body meeting. Works will start in another one or two months. I hope this project should be constructed soon and finished. It’s the dream of about millions of people.

The drama is in action between the DMK and Congress party. DMK has asked for 3 cabinet berth and 3 deputy birth. But the congress government is not keen in offering the posts. And DMK is very specific about the portfolio. They demand the Road and Surface transport, IT and Telecom and Railways. I would say that this is the biggest piece of comedy. They demand Railways for M. Azhagiri. He is the son of DMK supremo. The congress has clearly stated that it would want some educated ministers.

He is the first time MP and Manmohan singh has clearly said no to all DMK’s demands. The regional party has given a statement that it would give outside support to the government. They are about to return to the State today. But the media suggest that DMK will not loose their foot in the berth. The party demands berth for the family and not for DMK members. This is a shame.

Inflation plays a major role in explaining about a country’s economy. Extreme cases of inflammation are not good for any economy. It should be in a single digit. Inflation dipping below 1% is not good. It indicates that the country’s economy will shrink and people are not ready to buy anything. They try to save all the money they get. Japan is the best example for this case. How much ever the government is ready to give the stimulus package, people get all the money and deposit in the bank. They are not ready to buy products and enter a conservationist mood.

The other extreme case is the Americans. They do not care about anything and started spending in the form of their credit cards. They did not have even a single penny and used their cards for the payments. At one stage they were not able to pay anything to the credit card company. They all went bankrupt. The inflation was more because of the lavish spending.

It is understood that inflation must be under the control and monitored by the governments.

This project is called as the dream project for many tamil people. Chief minister karunanidhi is very anxious in getting huge success in this project. But the hidden truth is that his family will be getting huge amount of money in terms of kickbacks. That is why the DMK party is very much interested in fulfilling this. The drench that was hired belonged to the company of TR balu’s son. Recently, news paper articles indicate that the head office for the project is closed and is locked. The engineers assigned for this project are back to their offices to see their previous works. The drenchers were also removed from the place. So at this moment, the project is literally stopped. Lets see what is going to happen in the future.

Mr.TR Balu is the cabinet for Surface and Road Transport. Under his leadership, there were lots of projects undertaken in repairing highways, laying new roads, constructing flyovers. There were many projects that are undertaken in Chennai and in other parts of tamil nadu. Some of the flyovers are finished and are opened for the public transport. Kathipara flyover is a marvelous structure and other bridges like airport bridge, padi junction bridge, 2 bridges in T nagar area seemed to be a much relief. They have eased out the traffic congestion problem. But still there are lot more projects under construction and they have to be constructed in a fast pace to over come many problems.

The third front parties are increasing in their number. They are gaining momentum under the leadership of left parties. It is the left party which initiated the third front which will have parties that do not support BJP or Congress. Their motto is to form a central government which will not have BJP or Congress to rule. It forms a bigger alliance in tamil nadu. ADMK is leading the third front in Tamil nadu. Ms. Jeyalalitha is even called the prime ministerial candidate representing the third front. But there are several other parties like TDP, BJD. BJD was with BJP for the past ten years and has now parted with them. Due to the problems that had arise in the seat sharing, they got parted. There are several regional parties extending their support to the third front. Lets wait and watch on their results.

The last phase of General Elections has arrived. It has been a tough time for many political parties to go through this rough period. 4 Phases are over and the last hurdle is presented now. Tamil nadu is in the fifth phase for its 39 seats and 1 seat in Puducherry. Ruling DMK party is in alliance with Congress party. There is another party VCK which plays the caste based politics in this alliance. The opponents are quite a heavy and powerful alliance against the ruling parties. Headed by Jayalalitha of AIADMK, parties like Left parties, PML, MDMK and other petty parties are under their leadership. This alliance is expected to come under the third front. The elections are on May 13 and the results will be declared on May 16.

The french president Mr. Nicholoas Sarkozy has stated that the French government is against wearing purdha by Muslim women. He says that it is a move not against the community but it prevents the women from free movement and restricts them.

The purdha has been a constant problem all over the world. It is said in Islam to wear it. The traditional Muslim community leaders insist the ladies to wear even in this fashion world. This will derive strong condemn even from Al Qaeda.

As the election nears, all the political parties here in Tamil Nadu have taken the card of Sri Lankan tamil issues. Its been a big gambling by all the politicians. The first one to take up the issue was the left party. And then chief minister Karnunanidhi joined the race and portrayed himself to be the savior of tamils in sri lanka. As the elections geared up, all the parties took this issue and started canvassing vigorously as if they were the saviors and there were no other problems in the state. It is clearly a political gimmick but people are much aware on what is happening. I am sure I will not allow my politicians to make me a fool. It is high time for all the public to observe on developing issues and not carried away by the canvass.
